The alternative to this assignment is to write a well developed essay exploring the topic we are covering in class for this week* according to the following directions:

1) Brain storm on the topic you will write.  You may use any method of brainstorming you wish; however, you must write down all of your brainstorming and submit it and your rough draft with your final draft. 

2) Turn in the brainstorming and rough draft stapled to the final draft with all corrections made.  The rough draft must, be legible, have corrections made to and do not simply rewrite it neatly.

You must use complete sentences at all times. Each paragraph must include a topic sentence with details examples or facts supporting it as described below:

 

A good introduction paragraph
introduces the topic states your opinion (without using "I") -- this is your thesis for the essay contains an interest catching device
The body of the essay
Each paragraph begins with a topic sentence. Introduces details examples or facts that support the topic sentence (Three or more) Has a transition to the next topic.
Each paragraph begins with a topic sentence. Introduces details examples or facts that support the topic sentence (Three or more) Has a transition to the next topic.
Each paragraph begins with a topic sentence. Introduces details examples or facts that support the topic sentence (Three or more) Has a transition to the next topic.
A concluding paragraph
restates your opinion sums of your best points contains an interest catching device.

 

Brainstorming, a rough draft with corrections in your final draft,  are each worth one third of your grade.
