While some brand mascots (like Tony the Tiger) succeed in permeating the minds of potential consumers, others do not. Produced by the Discovery Channel, AMERICA'S AD ICONS looks at how certain brand icons stay fixated in the public's consciousness, while others fail to take hold and sell products, and eventually fade away. Using recognizable characters like The Energizer Bunny, Jack in the Box, and Mr. Clean among others, experts in the field discuss the many factors that contribute to advertising and brand imaging success. Just a few of the issues discussed include product marketing, people's willingness to associate a mascot with a given brand, and the psychological forces at work behind corporate icons.

End of Raising Arizona.   We continue to examine the phenomenon of a Frankenstein's monster as applied to the idea of "the American Dream" in popular culture through cinema. Begin Mr. and Mrs. Smith a couple who live the 'perfect' married life and seemingly the modern American dream: he's a successful engineer, she's a successful stockbroker, they have a huge white house in the suburbs, they have two cars, and they have just bought new curtains. Right down to their first names (John and Jane) the film is intent on showing us a picture-postcard stereotype of humdrum domestic bliss.
