13th        MONDAY Final Draft of Personal Mission Statement is Due.  Allusion is a brief reference to a person, event, or place, real or fictitious, or to a work of art, text, or story.  Identify Homer and Bart's Personal Missions from what you know about writing personal mission statements after viewing an episode of the Simpson's.  In what ways are Homer and Bart's goals SMART or not SMART?  Explain their "personal missions" and for each aspect of Homer and Bart's goals  identify how SMART they were-- due Monday.
14th        TUESDAY Continue to work on the Simpson's assignment in class.

9th          TUESDAY Meet in class first then pick up The Old Man and the Sea from the library-- YOU MUST BRING THE OLD MAN TO CLASS EVERY DAY-- (it counts as a HW grade).  Complete the Literary Level and the The Author's Purpose of your literary analysis on the crucible and submit the paragraphs  together on one sheet of paper numbered and in order on Monday 11/22.

If you choose not to recite the poem you must write a literary analysis of the poem and research the biography of the author in essay form.  Use the model for literary analysis.

All poems must be approved by the teacher and will be on a "first come first serve" basis.

Copy the poem into your notebook.

17th             TUESDAY Notes on the Sonnet; Create two sonnets; due Friday.
18th      WEDNESDAY Work on Sonnets in class.
19th          THURSDAY Work on Dream poem; Biographical Poem; and Concrete Poem (looks like a painting with words)-- these are due Monday, May 23rd
20th                 FRIDAY Test on Unit 12; HW-- begin organizing your 3 ring notebook for the open notebook final exam, as it is an open notebook test this will serve as your review for the entire years work!  Go through the work for the week from September through today and make a complete list of assigned reading to turn in Monday! Only one week to Memorial day weekend!
